Our Mission: The CARE Center seeks to empower our neighbors in southeastern Madison County through education, employment, crisis, and recovery support. Our desire, in all we do, is to share the love and hope of Christ through our ministry initiatives and outreach.
Our Story: In 2000, four area churches put their denominations aside and came together to start the CARE Center after recognizing the unmet needs of our under-resourced neighbors in southeastern Madison County. Initially, the mission provided emergency food, toiletries, baby products, school supplies, and financial assistance. By 2005, The CARE Center's Executive Board and volunteers realized the importance of community development to help our neighbors become self-sufficient and began to design opportunities for higher education.
Today, because of God's grace, The CARE Center has grown significantly to include youth and adult higher education support and impacting the lives of so many of our neighbors to promote long term sufficiency.
The CARE Center has established strong tutoring programs at 3 Title I schools and at one church, supporting students in reading and math every week. The New Hope Community Learning Center along with the Leadership Readiness Learning Center and CARE Center partnerships at New Hope Schools, offers after school programs where learning is disguised as fun and students are becoming college and career ready.
